The Wedding Table Plan That Put Everyone In Check

It’s often been said that creating a wedding table plan is a little like playing a complex game of chess where every so often the chess board changes shape, several pieces are added or removed, and the rules regularly changed. However, one couple took this idea more literally than most, and decided to base their entire wedding, including the wedding table plan, on the idea of chess.
The colours they chose were black and white, from the flowers to the dresses and suits, and the wedding table plan itself was drawn out like chess board. Each of the tables were named after a chess piece, so there were the Black Knights, the White Rooks, the Black Bishops and the White Pawns, as well as all several other combinations.
Kings and Queens
They did decide against having a specific table for the Queens however!
The Bride and Groom were the King and Queen, and even the wedding favours were made to look like chess pieces. The black and white colour scheme looked beautiful, and the wedding table plan itself worked well.
In the Groom’s speech he did suggest that perhaps his lovely new wife had checkmated him, and that she had captured the King, heart and all. However, as the Best man pointed out, Kings were known to be slow moving and very limited, whereas the Queen is the most powerful piece on the board.
