Dragon Gives Boost to Leeds-based Business

Horsforth, Leeds -- Leeds-based business TopTablePlanner has been chosen as a “Theo Paphitis, Small Business Sunday” winner.

The weekly Twitter contest was set up by the former Dragons’ Den star to raise the profile of the six businesses picked.

Small businesses have just 140 characters to describe their business to him in a tweet on a Sunday evening. The multi-millionaire retail magnate’s favourite six are then retweeted to his 330,000 Twitter followers the next evening.

TopTablePlanner owner, Adam Leyton said "There are around 1,000 great businesses trying to get the attention of Theo every week. To have gained the recognition of such a high profile and well-respected business owner is simply fantastic!"

"The past 24 hours have been crazy. We’ve gained a lot of Twitter followers as a result and seen a real boost in visitor numbers to our website. For a web-based business, this is great news!"

"It has really raised the profile of the business and we’re extremely grateful to Theo for the opportunity."

TopTablePlanner is web-based application for arranging the seating at weddings and formal events.

Adam set up the business with his wife Miranda following their own wedding in 2006 when they realised first-hand how complicated arranging a seating plan can be.

In the past six years, the software has been used to plan the seating at 1,000s of events in over 90 countries around the world.

Businesses looking for a re-tweet from Theo should tweet him on a Sunday evening between 5pm and 7.30pm and include the #SBS hashtag. The six lucky businesses are re-tweeted every Monday at 8pm. They are also invited to enter their profile on the Small Business Sunday website which is sponsored by Ryman Stationery where Theo is Chairman.
