Help - Frequently Asked Questions

I can't login / I haven't received my password yet.

Once you've paid, you'll normally receive your password by email within a few minutes. Unfortunately, sometimes emails do go astray so do check your junk/spam folders to make sure it hasn't gone in there.

Check you've given us the right email address too. If you've paid using an existing Paypal account, your login details will be sent to that email address.

If you're struggling to login successfully, carefully check you're typing the username and password correctly. You might like to copy and paste using CTRL-C and CTRL-V.

If you've forgotten your password, you can have a new one sent to you using our recover password page.

My plan prints too small / How do I increase the font size?

When your plan is printed, it is scaled to 'best fit' the paper size you select. Keeping empty/blank space on your plan to a minimum ensures you get the best results.

Move tables closer together if you can and drag the edges of the plan in. The less empty space there is, the better it'll scale.

How can I make the plan bigger to fit more tables in?

You can make the plan bigger or smaller by changing the values in the Settings menu or by dragging the little boxes that are in the middle of the right and bottom edges of the plan.

How do I add a title or subtitle?

There are options in the "Print" menu for a title and subtitle. These are automatically added to the top of your plan when you create the PDF ready for printing.

How do I email my plan to someone else?

Click on the printer icon, set the options and click on the "Create and Open PDF" button.

When the PDF opens, use the relevant menu in Adobe Reader to save the PDF and then attach it to an email in the usual way.

If you don't already have Adobe Reader installed, you can download it here.

iPad users should install the free Adobe Reader app and when the PDF is created by TopTablePlanner, click to "Open in Adobe Reader". You can then use the menu in the Adobe Reader app to "Email Document".

Scaling - How do I adjust the plan to match my room/marquee dimensions?

Exact scaling is not supported by TopTablePlanner. As table and chair sizes may vary from venue to venue, we wouldn't be able to guarantee precise measurements and so a plan would not be accurately to scale.

You can, however, use the gridlines on the plan as a guide. Firstly, find out the measurements of the tables your venue will be using. You can then add a table to your plan and see how many grid squares that table occupies, and consequently how big each grid square represents in reality. Finally, you can adjust your plan to match the dimensions of your room/marquee.

Whilst it won't be completely precise, it should give you a close approximation.

When I print my place cards the names don't line up correctly.

Firstly you need to make sure you've selected the right place card sheets from the "Print" menu. You also need to ensure you're using compatible place cards as TopTablePlanner only supports certain products.

The most common problem is the "Page Scaling" option in the "Print" menu of Adobe Reader. Ensure that you've set "Page Scaling" to "None".

My scrollbars aren't working

There is a minor incompatibility in older versions of Google Chrome - if your plan is larger than the screen, the scrollbars don't allow you to scroll the plan. If you have this problem, please either update Google Chrome or use the arrow keys on your keyboard instead or a mouse scroll wheel if you have one.
