Here’s a wonderful idea that was sent to us last week by the lovely Sarah Ainslie.

Sarah and her husband got married back in June 2007 with the reception held in the Cow Shed restaurant in Wakefield and the evening do at Ossett Town Hall. Breaking well away from tradition, the evening function even had an 80s fancy dress theme!

Invite Inner

They decided to have a little fun with their wedding invitations and place settings, creating caricatures of all the guests.  Sarah tells us that fortunately it was a small wedding!  Other than a graphic designer friend helping them out with the invitations they did everything themselves, and didn’t include the other guests’ names in the invitation design as they thought it would be a bit of fun for people to spot the different characters.

Caricature Place Card

The place cards really do look great, and there was even a matching badge included for each guest to wear!

Sarah works as a freelance marketer, copywriter and blogger and has a wonderful blog. I particularly liked her post on the perils of working from home – it’s all so true!

We want to see your wedding stationery!

I’d like to thank Sarah very much for sending us her photos and telling us about her invitations and place settings. If you’d like us to feature your table plan or place cards, please see this blog post for further details.
